i recently found this picture when i was cleaning up..i took it 5 years ago in a laundromat in albany..i like it..you should too..

i just went on my friend stewart simons' website and saw a project that he just finished called TAXI 07...it was commissioned by the Design Trust For Public Space in conjunction with the Taxi Limousine Commission and NYC in light of the centennial of the taxi in New York...it is a behind the scenes document of the taxi industry, from the body shops to the drivers themselves..its a really good body of work and whoever is looking at this blog should go look at TAXI 07 afterwards..the link to stewarts website is on the right..check it out!!

i can't take credit for the photo, but i did put the token in the slot..i must say that i love these 3 people..in the big scheme of things we really only recently started being good friends, but i feel like i have known them for a very long time..all three are amazing people and amazing artists, as well..i look forward to the good times ahead..

sprawl-the scattered, unplanned, and unchecked expansion of a town or city into the surrounding countryside..
i was in charlotte from monday to thursday this week...i don't mean to offend anyone who lives there, but it was painful...maybe i didn't get to see as much of the city as i could have, but all it was was sprawl as far as the eye could see...i spent more time in my hotel room than i would ever care to again, and the only redeeming quality was the quality of light coming through the window in the morning(as you can see by the self portrait).it also helped that i had someone special on the other end of the phone to keep me sane, and to remind me of better days to come..

i need to see the rest of this country before it is all gone...i'm sure i've missed enough of it already..
