well it's been a while so i decided it was time to update this thing..i just scanned a bunch of photos from the summer and will probably start posting them regularly...maybe...what i really need to do is start shooting again...i have kind of been feeling like this photo lately..hurtling forward through the darkness towards the blurry unknown..so we'll see how that goes..

this is a photo from a place in nashville that i visited with gary last week called "hatch show print"...i think its the oldest letter press in america and was founded i think in 1876..we got a tour from Jim, the guy who runs the place..he was really nice and told us the whole history..after the tour he kind of cut us loose to go explore..it was amazing!!
they still have all of the original letters and characters and stuff..it was pretty intense..
this first photo is of some of thier clients..i think they take the tape of of the frame when they are done making the posters and just slap them on the wall..there were about 5 more of these walls!!
i will post more as they get scanned..
...thanks to josh goleman for helping me scan this and color correct it (or whatever you do to a b+w image)..he is a damn genius and a wiz and an all around great dude/artist..check out his work..theres a link to him the right..look!!!

children of the grave...

well this doesn't really have anything to do with photography, but it is pretty relevant to what is going on in the world today...it's a messed up place right now and pretty depressing, too..i've ben listening to this song more and more recently and i can't stop..it came out in '71, and the fact that it is completely relevant right now, and probably will be forever, is crazy..check out the words and the video and try to treat eachother kindly..i'm trying to do that..it doesn't always work but i think i'm gonna try my best from now on...we'll see.........

.children of the grave-black sabbath.
Revolution in their minds - the children start to march
against the world in which they have to live
and all the hate that's in their hearts.
They're tired of being pushed around
and told just what to do.
They'll fight the world until they've won
and love comes flowing through.

Children of tomorrow live in the tears that fall today.
Will the sun rise up tomorrow bringing peace in any way?
Must the world live in the shadow of atomic fear?
Can they win the fight for peace or will they disappear?

So you children of the world,
listen to what I say..
If you want a better place to live in
spread the words today.
Show the world that love is still alive
you must be brave!
Or you children of today are
Children of the grave

okay so i just got yelled at to update this thing with a photo, too, since i was here and logged on and blah blah..this is a pretty new photo i made of a musician for a record company..his name is ken and he is a pretty nice dude..hopefully i'll get to shoot him and his band some more..i think they are moving to brooklyn pretty soon so that increases my chances..anyway..its more color work which i promised about 4 months ago......................... does anyone look at this thing?

new project...

hello out there to anyone who looks at this old blog of mine..
so...i have a new project i would like to share with all of you..i kind of noticed that there were a ton of blogs out there dedicated to fine art photography/photographers, but not so many that were showcasing documentary work..with that thought in mind i decided to start "the personal document"..it is a new bi-monthly documentary photo showcase open to any photographer that has a documentary project that they want to get out there..
so go take a look at it and tell me what you think..the first post is a good one!!
